Another project with honey? Reposted to bee able to find this recipe again and show my wife… have two hives so far and hoping to catch a lot more bees this year!

The best hive products will all come from treatment free hives, by the way… so, ideally visit your local beekeeper if you can to see their apiary, or ask about their methods. We do not treat for varroa mites, small hive beetles or ever feed sugar water, and we only use locally caught bees. So much less stress for them and us, especially using Layen’s style hives! 🐝😍 #beestr #naturalbeekeeping

I have a hive here and for those without 8 always say go local. The bees harvesting from the environment you live in seems to add something to the honey particular to the area. We use it for hayfever treatment here too in the spring and it makes a big difference.

Another nice thing with Layen’s hives or any horizontal hive really, is that if you don’t treat there are products available that commercial beekeepers can’t sell, like bee bread and I believe also propolis, which is a natural anti-viral
