I don't make Merlot anymore because of the movie Sideways.
Hollywood ruins everything.

Merlot took such a hit, what’s the beef?
U seen the movie?
Yes, Paul Giamatti’s character loves Pinot and hates Merlot, but wasn’t that a trend already happening or did the movie single handedly do that?
He doesn't hate Merlot, it's just his ex wife's favorite wine and he doesn't want to drink it because of her.
The movie single handedly changed grape production in the US. Way more Pinot. Way less Merlot. Massive implications. No joke
Oh that’s right. I stand corrected. Perhaps a Sideways 2 can balance the scales.
That movie was from back in 2005 or so, wasn’t it? People still remember that one line from the film? And it actually still affects Merlot sales?
Absolutely. Pinot sky rocketed and Merlot ranked and is still down. When I served it in a tasting 50% of people would quote that line
Malbec intensifies! 🍷
Yep
I don’t listen to creed anymore because of the Super Bowl
