Ah fuck what a shame. I remember a cork shortage some years ago. Might have excused it then but I guess it makes sense for shit wines to go shit all the way.

Yeah that makes total sense. And to be clear, I would have a hard time looking at cork and telling if it's real or not. I'd have to look that up beforehand. I've noticed cork differences, but never knew there was this much variation. Thanks for alerting

its really easy to tell once you know. Maybe the comated corks is a bit harder to see before you open the bottle, but look at that pic I posted and youll notice the differences.

BAsically they fill the gaps in the cork with glue and cork dust or just blend it all up and seal it together
