Corks are 100% Natural.
They come from cork trees and unless you want polyurethane glue in contact with your wine, you need to choose wine that uses them.
So many wineries cut costs here.

Can’t be that expensive right? Surprised wineries think they need to cut costs with something as tiny as that
It adds up when youre doing hundreds of thousands of bottles and your corporate investors care about every penny (most wine).
For nicer wine its a no brainer and a tell tale sign. If they're cutting corners here, theyre cutting corners elsewhere
Ahhh. Makes sense when scaled to that level
Ah fuck what a shame. I remember a cork shortage some years ago. Might have excused it then but I guess it makes sense for shit wines to go shit all the way.
If you're making wine to fit a cheap price point you cut all the corners because your customers only care about the label and the price tag
Yeah that makes total sense. And to be clear, I would have a hard time looking at cork and telling if it's real or not. I'd have to look that up beforehand. I've noticed cork differences, but never knew there was this much variation. Thanks for alerting
its really easy to tell once you know. Maybe the comated corks is a bit harder to see before you open the bottle, but look at that pic I posted and youll notice the differences.
BAsically they fill the gaps in the cork with glue and cork dust or just blend it all up and seal it together
🤢🤮
Screw tops FTW!

That's what I've always believed anyway 😂
yes.
A screw topped wine is essentially frozen in time which is great of Rose.
But long term wine contact with the cap is not good. Drink screw tops right away and/or avoid them imo
I like that yours have Skin to Skin printed on them. It's a nice touch.
How we like it 🤝

Are the four corks on the left all natural, or are they partially mixed with this glue?
the far left is natural
Colmated: Low quality natural cork with the gaps filled in by glue+Cork dust
Technical: Agglomerated cork center with natural cork ends - the idea is that the natural cork is the only thing that contacts the wine, but this isn't really true
Agglomerated: cork bits all glued together
🤔 contemplating how long it would take to grow a corkorchard 🤔
make sure your kids are into it and that you move to portugal
