Who is funding #Amethyst?

Who is the Influencor that shills it constantly?

How come Amethyst has very likely the most number of unique features on #nostr and nobody talks about them or push other famous client to implement them? Like..

- zapstrem visible in client

- zap pools

- sensitive content flag when creating note

- split zap when creating note

- scrollable feed only image/video like TikTok/Instagram

- so many other features I forgot and really don't have time to put all them down since they are so much..

#Amethyst, the most underrated client, will keep saying it, since others are sleeping on it, for a reason or another.. 👀

I love amethyst.

It's my main for sure. I also like nostrudel and every now and they I check what my posts look like on iris or primal🤷🏽

But damn I love chatting in Livestream with people who speak other languages than me in amethyst🤷🏽

Months? A year! Pretty sure!

I joined Nostr last year around my birthday and that was the first feature that made me go YES! And I was hooked ever since.

Even when amethyst was mutiny people and people had onyx. I still went back to amethyst to talk to peeps with the translation feature and whatever other features weren't on onyx at the time.

Fucking True.. use #Amethyst since day one basically. vitor implemented ad built so many things in the first 2/3 months that all devs where almost pissed by him..

Probably that was thw beginning when Influencors putted him in the corner.. also because I admit, he always wanted to do thw shit his own ways, without listening to others.. but man, he was GFY since the beginning. He was and is the spirit of #Nostr itself, also because like for Onyx, you can fork #Amethyst and do what you please. I used Onyx.

I remember I downloaded obtanium because he posted about it like "with obtanium it's anti Google and you can see when amethyst and onyx update and see which is better🤷🏽" and I was like OK I WILL DAMNIT

He is also implementing creation lists and feed lists on Amethyst.. can't wait for it.

Now that I follow 1700+ users, many notes got buried from people that don't post much, but the quality of their note is so high.. but I don't want to unfollow #plebs to see them..

Primal is nice looking, generally well, and is cross platform, but rollout of new features is been pretty slow. Especially compared to the insane pace Vitor seems to develop at.

The idea of interacting with a lot different nostr stuff but not supporting full functionality is pretty brilliant, encouraging exploration of the whole ecosystem. I think that's my favorite thing about amethyst.

Who shills Amethyst? Many people do. It's been my number one client for a year now. I use it daily.

I also complain about Amethyst daily because it has stability issues and I want it to be the best as it as the most features out of all Nostr clients.

There's a reason I call Vitor the Master of NIPs.

My note was more to enlight how is not enough pushed and mentioned even if it implements more "stuff" than any other client.. like DVM (I don't know what I am talking about, but a bird told me is cool stuff).

Hard for Damus to br recognized by anyone on Android too as its not in the app stores. Even still, there are people running Damus on Android today, the dev is working on it.

Nostr as a client runs fine on Apple. Its probably even more importnat it does so for ensuring that decentralized software stays usable on any mainstream platform.

I do prefer it on Primal yes, and I put down some of the reasons, but everyone is different and likes different features. What is that you like and have on Primal that is missing on Amethyst? Other than algos..

mainly the algos (sorting by trending and most zapped posts) but also the immediate zap in the app rather than having to open an external wallet.

1. I am an Android dev, not iOS or other PWA stack. So, any time on iOS will take away from our Android users.

2. iOS is extremely centralizing, which goes against Nostr's core values. I just don't want to help that centralization to continue.

3. I don't believe in the corporate idea of developing the same app to many platforms. You either don't specialize enough in each platform to make it cohesive with its OS or you do it at the expense of the app's features and completness. Meaning, you can ship a basic app in 3 platforms, or a massive app to platform, but you can't do massive apps in all platforms.

if you dev in java, all plataforms with jvm will work bro.

multiplataform + speciality is already possible. but I'm with you. IOJAIL users pay for their data stolen, so they should pay for a programmer to dev to their plataform hahahahahaha

I remember asking when Damus for Android would come. I was told something similar.

A couple of months later, you dropped a clunky version of Amethyst, but it was usable. For a while Amethyst & Nostros were both pretty reasonable Nostr clients.

At some point Amethyst started becoming smooth & stable. Then you just went all out dropping features that would take some clients months/years to add.

I always admired the way you worked! You just took what you thought was the right path & adjusted as you went.
