No one is mentioning the ACTUAL counter to his argument.
Yes lighting fixes this, but it doesn't need to be fixed. Bank runs can only happen when you don't have complete control over your money and are worried another party won't pay up on your IOU.
Bitcoin has no IOUs.
Bitcoin has no bank runs.
