She said she wanted to make either scrambled eggs or cereal and strawberries. We give her a paring knife and a cutting board she goes to town.
She's been helping prep food for over a year. Some days it's more some its less.

We find giving choice is important:
Do you want to wash the potatoes or help salt the meat.
I introduced the knife. Showed how it cuts food just like fingers, then proper safe technique.
