I use my own core lightning node. Think alby is good for a more custodial solution, don't use it myself
Alby requires email for creating a new Alby account...that's strange to me...though you can connect other wallets to Alby.
There is the Alby Browser Extension that allows you to connect your own lightning nodes or other lightning wallets. It is open-source.
And there is the Alby Account, a managed lightning wallet, that you connect to the extension, to Damus, to Amethyst, etc.
Hi Moritz, thanks for your kind response. Yes, I've connected LNBits wallet from Alby Browser Extension. And I also wanted to try the Alby Account the managed Ln wallet...which requires email to sign up. Did I miss anything? Thanks.
Yes. we need to be able to reach our users, because Alby is still a custodial account today. That's why we need an email address.
