Install the Alby Extension, connect an Alby Account to get started. There is no need to configure a lightning wallet. You can't receive zaps though. But signing into Nostr apps works perfectly like this.
Alby has a freemium offering. You can use the wallet for free without a subscription or if you prefer more services with a subscription.
The best routing nodes are profitable but there are also plenty that do it to help the network grow.
It is really hard to say something about liquidity and profitability because it very much depends on your focus as a node. For instance: If you become a default LSP selling channels in LSP, you'll have a constant demand of people buying channels from you. But there are also other strategies.
If you really want you can get in touch with Alby anytime using the chat widget on support.getalby.com and I bet you'll receive a reply within 12 hours from a human, not a bot.
I set my daughter up with a simple lightning wallet and taught her about how the machines in my office mine a little bit of BTC to her address each day.
It's a fun way to get my kids involved and learning!

Alby Hub subscriptions work based on NWC. The client receives an NWC connection secret with a pay_invoice permission and sends a pay_invoice request to the wallet.
Numerous emails have been sent, announcements published and banners displayed over the last 18 months to inform users that the legacy Alby shared wallet is no longer operated. Instead users can move to Alby Hub which is a self-custodial wallet.
Hope you could be more precise in your article. Only users of the legacy wallet without any payment activity over the last 12 months are affected. User's of the Alby Hub, self-custodial wallet enjoy freedom and control.

That's not unexpected. User have been informed for over 1.5 years to withdraw remaining funds to their Alby Hub self-custodial wallet.
