Higher grade coffee is uniform. All the beans are in good condition and the same size.
Also worth mentioning that in the commodity blend you have two things that are particularly concerning. Lots of those beans have tiny holes caused by insect damage from a small beetle called the coffee borer. There are toxins in said beans. The black beans are also concerning due to mold and overall rot. Other defects in there can affect the taste. Most preground dark roasted coffee sold by retailers is full of this stuff. Most of the coffee worldwide is this quality.
