I meant to do this a few years now just from trees around wherever I've been living, I made some really Kick-Ass syrup. Sad I didn't get to do it this season!

I haen't had a chance to try any other types of sap. This is year 3 of maple production. Next year is going to be absolutely popping. What other types of trees have you tapped?
It has only been silver maples but wow the syrup is soooooo deliciously sweet. Different from commercial maple syrup. I have wanted to tap birch but never had good access. Now that I have my own land I'm going to plant a maple grove and include some birches too.
