Congratz!!!
I've been on and off the ketovore wagon for months.
I was doing pretty damn good until our daughter was born in nov.
My problem is not doing meal prep. But, I may have sold rhe wife on sous vide, which should help out. We will see
Off grid cabin that I built. Being used as an airbnb. Needs its own toilet arrangement besides cat holes. I should make a video about this thing. It's awesome!

One compost pile is turned once and tarped. Already running hot.
One compost pile has been made and needs to be tarped
Working on getting a third compost pile made up.
All from one cleaniut of the duck shed. Damn!

Turkey poults! I paired them up with some few week leghorns so they would learn to eat and drink quicker #homestead #gobble #turkeys #grownostr

So far in my homestead journey, I've raised baby chicks, pekin ducklings and muscovy ducklings. Today that expands to turkey poults.
I have been reading up on it, and it seems pretty straightforward. Luckily I have some young leghorns that I can put in with them to show them the way. We will see how it goes. Pics to come!

Gotta say, it's pretty tough and accurate enough. Price is still nice too.
Bought a fluke initially, didn't realize that a backlight wasn't a native function, then lost it.
A $200 lesson to not buy fluke meters.
The previous owners planted tons of flowers here. Mostly bulbs. Its an almost nonstop bloom from April to oct.
And they're msintenance free once established
Well, it ain't great. I wouldn't even al it good. But it'll do, and it was free to do.
Barn needs some real TLC this summer.

I've been using this chicken coop for about two years. It was built by the previous landowner. Turns out there's a bunch of holes in the back. Guess I've ben lucky #homestead #chicken #grownostr

How do you like the square heater pad thing vs a heat lamp? I've been thinking of switching and keeping the lamps as backups only
Thats a great idea. And a great reminder to get a compost pile going!!!
I haven't nailed down a specific ratio for my trees yet, since I haven't gotten a large enough production.
But yea, 40:! is a general rule. Some types of maple trees produce a noticable sweeter sap. If I had all those trees, then I would end up with probably something MAYBE more like 30 ot 35 to 1, I suspect.
My best producer and sweetest tree is a younger silver maple that will out produce older trees by almost double.
That was my backup plan, but the new tire sidewalls are kind of "bowed" in toward the center, so I can't get them to expand enough to get the bead started enough. I also don't have an air compressor (yet) which probably would help me out quite a bit.
The bead is also really tight on the rim which is great but makes it a little hard to handle.
Working on the lawn tractor. I hate tires! And I ran out of start spray too (to set the bead).
