Yes, it is early. Very early. But it's incredible how amazing the experience has been and the daily improvements are palpable. The protocol has been around longer than most people realize but really has only been getting traction since about November or December.

There are many clients (for desktop/web, Android, iOS) currently being actively developed and improved. Your experience will also vary not just based on what client you're using but also what relays you're connected to and if any are paid or not. Obviously who you follow is important for your experience.
