Replacing one ‘mindless dopamine trap’ with another one, one with monetary value attached. This whole thing feels more like a repackaged shuffle, of the same thing.

Kind of like adding money to a game, you’re just moving the reward (dis)incentives. Dopamine will just hit differently.

I’m not wholly against #onlyzaps, but I don’t think this particular kind of argument stands.

While both are dopamine mines, the key difference is that zaps have a limited quantity. They carry more weight and value than an infinite supply of likes.

Does an individual account not hold but one like, on one note?

Zaps are only constrained by monetary ability (and the protocol it’s based on).

Fair point. My usage of infinite was to express that a user is able to like every single note they come across without any cost of doing so.
