That's a bullshit story. In Germany eveyone - by law - has the right to a checkings account, even when job- or homeless and banks have no leeway.

We don't know what actually happened - he might have transferred money to a sanctioned entity or overdraft his account to many times or didn't pay his bills. It's just his claim of censorship by the bank.

Data protection and privacy laws are pretty strong in Germany, why would a bank care about his political views and where would they get the information to it?

Also, where is proof of his other claim? He provides a photo of a letter to the termination of his contract so why not provide the proof to his other claim? It's just to support his bs story and to make his case appear stronger.

Seems all like artifical outrage. Register with Revolut and stop whining.

I quickly took a look at this and someone who was actively disagreeing with Safa said that the letter doesn't give a specific reason and that they don't have to. Do you have a link to anything supporting that specific institutions have to maintain your account or is it just that you have a general right to *an* account but not necessarily with this institution (i.e. you can't be entirely excluded from banking)?
