We can’t switch to a more decentralized model of fetching notes because it requires much more hardening and validation. The gossip model enables many new attacks on the original version of damus. Switching to the local relay model fixes many of these attacks which is why I am implementing that first.
People like to knock on damus for this but it’s not as simple as just implementing a relay nip.
Local relay model will pay dividends.
Not sure what it is, but Primal just doesn’t feel the same even though it has less bugs than Damus. I do love the follower notifications on Primal though. And sometimes I get notifications on Damus but when I click the bell, nothing is there.
I’m curious, does Primal have the local relay model?
To clarify, Damus is my favorite it just needs some polishing. 🙏💜
