Strong northerly winds outside ... rain, temperature drop. All is dark, no streetlights, no illuminated buildings in sight.

Inside a fire's burning in the woodstove. Just came out from a hot shower, now chilling barefoot and in t-shirt. Warmth from the olive branches, electricity from the solar panels, water from the natural spring, all independently produced.

This feeling of freedom and self-created safety, I can't fully describe. I can only say, it makes a huge difference, it's empowering. And it's possible!
