50% of cases where I want to tag someone I follow in a post, Amethyst can't find the account. I close the compose view, search for the account in search, visit profile, and only then it's somewhere in the cache (I assume?) and I can tag them when I write a post.

Same here. Not sure why, looks like the search is not triggered on the tag, or the results are not added to the tag list.

I backspace and re-type slowly a few times. I think it takes time to pull a search for each character. Sometimes it's a 30 second process, but they eventually show up.
Yes, it used to be a lot worse, but it's still not great.
Same. It makes no sense to me the person you're tagging has to be in your recent timeline. 99% of the time the only people you would EVER tag are people you're following. The tag cache should always have those names loaded.
