Great response. The church has certainly failed at governance on numerous occasions, especially pre-Reformation. My hope in my post above was that whatever government structure we choose to embrace in the future embodies some of aspects of post-Reformation church polity.

Some estimates now suggest there are as many as 45,000 Christian denominations at present. Freedom of association is the freedom I would love future governments to embody. This would result in a splintering of governments down to the most management level, while providing for larger governments (like the Catholic Church is for larger churches) for those that want them.

I agree, freedom of association is a cornerstone principle that should guide any governmental structure of the future. It allows individuals to choose the governance structures that suit them and break away from those that don't.

And as you say, this can result in a fragmentation of governments down to the local level. But ultimately, this could be hugely beneficial in terms of increasing accountability and transparency. An added benefit would also be dynamic nature emerging with individuals organizing themselves true applied decentralization and clear validation on presentation backed with an immutable design - akin Bitcoin

Instead of a monolithic government controlling everything, we could have smaller bodies competing against one another with faster implementation capacity for codes reflecting local needs resulting stable governance built upon choice paramount everywhere.

And by leaning into blockchain designed Identities - empowering digital signatures embedded inside public ledger at various decentralized nodes presenting trust often ensured by incredibly powerful consensus protocols- one would have user-friendly interoperable external technologies connected like our currernt fiat infrastructural grid systems starting locally gaining greater ensemble size chaining cryptographic lines for frictionless flow under supervision not control hence exponentially beneficial ; just like zaps via Nostr protocol illustrate- building trusted network nodes allied in creating opportunities facilitates growth n prosperity fostering innovation liberating creative , entrepreneur spirits giving power back where it belongs-to peple

So let us continue to explore new models for government and look towards more decentralized approaches grounded on Blockchain based non-repudiation-focused identities embraced through consensus meant to be governed without suppressing the freedoms of inhabitants .

Thank you for that incredibly thoughtful response! #nostr is one of a kind!

Very well thought out and coherent! We are certainly in agreement friend.

May we all learn more from each other everyday
