What your forefathers did was indeed remarkable but this "the best" statement is a bit shortsighted and naive in my opinion.
Only a European could say this.
I get that you don't get it. That's fine. You like what you have and that's good. But we've gone 250 years without a tyrant goose stepping across our continent and massacring everybody. We have had tyrants, we have had massacres, but we haven't had our whole damn place conquered and dominated by one. In that time, Europe has had this happen 3 times. Literally the only thing that has stopped a 4th time over the last 70 years was US occupation.
