I do not understand how so many in the freedom/liberty/privacy scene

Still use spyware like Zoom for all of their online outreach/courses

So many better (not perfect) and lighter services out there like Jitsi.meet

Duh!

Unless I'm missing something, Jitsi requires google, facebook, or github sign in to host a meeting. They changed a while back because pedos or something, allegedly.

No shit. The point is that they deem the trifecta of privacy fucktardery to be the ultimate arbiter of online account validity and we should take their service with a grain of salt.
