I’d go as far to say that 95% of the people on Nostr are not onboard with the decentralised utopia we dream of. They still behave like they want overlords to nanny this place.

If you don’t know how to control what you don’t want to see/read in a decentralised platform, then this place isn’t for you.

I don’t know that it’s that bad as a percentage of daily active users, but your second statement is spot on. Many will learn it after much gnashing of teeth.

I used to think it’s a small % actually. With the newer surge of users, they made it larger. People see this place as “a platform that isn’t Twitter/X that I’m going to try” as opposed to, “that place where we can be free of the overlords and deepthroat algos”.

especially those that dont want anyone talking about them, why do you think the globohomo nations are all moving laws to control speech more?

It's still new and the reality of how decentralized social media works hasn't hit them yet.

I agree and I look forward to the maturity date when people realise what it was truly meant for.

unabandoned use of nigger

This note sounds snobbish. But I've not studied this profile-feed. Nor am I judgemental.

I disagree with that large amount of percentage. I don't have statistical data.

For me, it's very difficult to look down upon fellow humans.

Correct.

hash ided media needs to become the norm asap as its a big weakness right now

One doesn't turn into a so called tinfoil hat activist over night. It takes time to realize what actually is better for people. Give them time. Saying this place isn't for them is just wrong imo. Freedom of speech belongs to everyone.

It would be naive to think that Nostr is for everyone. It is even more naive to think that people understand or even know what freedom means until they lose it.

Freedom and nostr is for everyone, and I mean everyone.

It's just that everyone is not yet in phase to understand or appreciate what nostr is.

Don't worry, we'll all get there eventually, meanwhile - enjoy the culture clash 🍿
