is there any downside to linking npub in eNuts from a privacy pov?

Not that I'm aware of. It's all in the device and doesn't require your nsec.

There is no privacy downside. eNuts generates a new nsec for DMs. It uses your npub to show your Nostr info and uses another to send funds.
