@RealBabyShapiro Sure some asshole might use trickery, force, or coercion to rape a 16 year old. That is rape. That is the same as if the victim is 30, 50, or 100 years old.

But since a 16 year old understands sex, he/she is able to make an informed decision about if, when, and with whom.

@RealBabyShapiro Even really stupid states that set the age of consent ridiculously high, like 18, almost always have close-in-age exceptions, because they know perfectly well that 16 year olds can and do consent all the time. They are not children. They are young adults.

@RealBabyShapiro One big problem lies in the fact that in our battle against real pedophiles who do real damage, we keep getting distracted by young adults being young adults. A 17 year old wanted a 19 year old. They lived far away. They sent photos. ENORMOUS scandal.
