I am not sure who I would rrather encounter. Your copperheads (I think are Agkistrodon contortrix?) , who seem to sit still, in camouflage, when approached . . . Or our copperheads (Austrelaps superbus, image added) who are our only venemous snakes that live above the snow line . . . Lucky for us, even though they have pretty hectic venom, they are also really loud when approached (hissers), and not very accurate when striking.
