Am I following a script, or do I have free will?

Today, in particular, I'm thinking about this a lot 🤔

Free will is an illusion, like the soul. Show me the part of the brain that is the "free will." It's a poorly defined concept at best, and at worst a metaphysical ghost story. It's Homunculus's all the way down.

I'm beginning to wonder 😂

We make real choices that matter, **and** we're following a script. God 'appoints the ends' and also 'the means thereto'. See [Phillipians 2:12-13](https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/phl/2/1/).

"We must not resist the mythical radiance which rests on all our theology..." -- C. S. Lewis

The inventor of the rabbit hole 😂

I think that was Lewis Carroll 😉🤙

Yes, C.S. Lewis Carroll, he's local to me in Oxford 😂

Also, I'm pretty certain I've just experienced the Mandela effect, because seriously, until yesterday I didn't know there were two people called Lewis who were famous Oxford alumni and authors. I think we've just experienced a quantum Universe split.

I've also just realised that Lewis from the Inspector Morse books by Colin Dexter was probably named after one or both of them 😂

Maybe the script planned a thoughtful day for you?

Remember when the Bart Simpson used to watch cartoons on TV? 😱

😁

There is an app I remember reading about that does not really help with free will but it does take you off the script…or at least splits your timeline.

It is called Universe Splitter. When you have a decision to make you use universe splitter to decide which option to choose by running a double slit experiment which some would argue branches the universe into one where the photon went left and one where it went right causing you to make a different decision in each.

"Scientists have good reason to believe that every quantum event plays out simultaneously in every possible way, with each possibility becoming real in a separate universe. You can now harness this powerful and mysterious effect right from your iPhone or iPad!

How? Whenever you're faced with a choice — for example, whether to accept a job offer or to turn it down — just type both of these actions into Universe Splitter©, and press the button.

Universe Splitter© will immediately contact a laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland, and connect to a Quantis brand quantum device, which releases single photons into a partially-silvered mirror. Each photon will simultaneously bounce off the mirror and pass through it — but in separate universes.*

Within seconds, Universe Splitter© will receive the experiment's result and tell you one of the two actions to take. (Meanwhile, you will also be told to take the other action -- but that will happen in a separate branch of the universe.) After you've competed the action(s), your two timelines will begin to diverge.*”

The interesting thing about the idea of multiverses and quantum effects and Schrödinger's cat is that they mix metaphors.

The cat is NOT both alive and dead at the same because it is not a quantised particle, but, but a sub atomic particle at absolute zero does not have a defined state.

There are likely infinite Universes, but there isn't an infinite copies of me, just infinite variations of that quantised particle becoming defined along with every other quantised particle creating unique events at the sub atomic level.

I also use the word infinite in the same way the ant would describe the world because an ant in the UK cannot begin to comprehend America.

If all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players, then I'd like to read my script 😂

90% script. 10% free will.
