the differences between nostr and twitter continue to be drastic. we're seeing a divergence in conversation between the two. on nostr, we mostly discuss building nostr and good times. on twitter, it's always the current thing or in-fighting amongst various bitcoin-cliques.

do we have a "current thing" here? if so, what is it?

Building a nostr app a day, keeps the centralized services away. 💜

Better, just create one and make it work fine.

How can a person become more self reliant.

buy/build a farm?

Or just plant what you can, where you can.

It was more an answer to your question though.

The "current thing" on nostr is ephemeral, limited to about an hour of organic, authentic attention. Then it retreats into the mindshare of a handful of people that actually give a shit.

On Twitter, there is an algorithm that is designed to get you upset to the point you engage. So it is constantly in your face, saying "HEY REMEMBER THAT CURRENT THING YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT!? THERE ARE SOME ASSHOLES OVER THERE THAT HATE/LOVE CURRENT THING AND YOU NEED TO GO DEFEND/DESTROY IT FOR THE GOOD OF YOUR TRIBE"

Hmm. This is a good and accurate description I believe. We don't have the algorithms to make the controversy stay front and center. We move on quite quickly here if that does arise.

I think if we had an algorithm, Cassie and Penis Butter would still be a thing.

I'm glad Cassie died. That was th dumbest shit. Penis butter was at least organic fun.

Cassie died? Dang, RIP

How she die? Or is that just code for got fired?

Not on twitter for a long time now. Biggest difference from what I remember though is the lack of algorithmic boosting and deboosting that occurs there.

Lots of lightning hate going around, but all from people who are still very xitter and influencer minded. Nostr native and nostr only folks don't seem to buy it.
