Replying to Ralphy

Hi nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll team. I recently installed startos on an old Lenovo thinkpad (I installed the “non free” version if that matters. It seems like everything is running well. However is there a way for me to turn the screen off of the laptop so it doesn’t consume lots of power? None of the normal hardware buttons I use to adjust brightness or turn screen off seem to work.

I’d love to know about this as well. Also, is there any recommendation on how to encrypt the data in Nextcloud in case someone gets access to my StartOS server machine? I’ve heard their encryption is very fiddly…

Disk encryption is always a risky endeavor. We personally do not recommend it in most cases until it is officially supported by StartOS.

Got it, thanks. So if my start OS machine physically falls into the wrong hands, they can just plug in my ssd and have access to many things?
