I painstakingly outlined a future America precisely with *NO* States and then to compound that with spontaneous order (chaos) - another closely aligned concept we share. I am just like wow. It’s as if you and I are constructing the exact same novel. Also, heavy interest in writers and books and reading and learning and especially world building. @jack omg, you have undergone a full paradigm shift. You & I are on the exact same plane. Furthermore, there are too many shady people who have unfettered access to Americans through the advertising model. That area of business is grossly abused and requires strict regulation and oversight. There are too many loopholes in advertising and it puts all Americans privacy and safety at risk. “Lessons in Chemistry” was so good. Two genius lovers with the most sordid tragic back stories. It’s controversial.

Her dad was a preacher. He was an orphan at a Catholic Boys Home. Both the preacher and Bishop at the Boys Home were absolutely *horrible* human beings. Even to this day I can’t decide which one is worst. And as a result, both characters become staunch atheists. Naturally, some Christians took offense to that, as well as the negative portrayal of Christianity. On the flip side, all of the scientists were equally *horrible* too. Later, both characters go on to befriend a much different Bishop and bridge an understanding of trust, friendship and mutual respect.⚛️🫂❤️

It is a masterclass in world-building and storytelling. It is truly amazing to me how The Wizard of Oz remains a relevant, mainstay and transmission of modern culture. Speaking of “The Gold Standard” - the film Elevation on HBO is so good. You know me, I love the world-building in this film. The movie was filmed on location in Gold Hill, Colorado - an unincorporated community with a pop. on only 218. It’s nestled in the mountainside above Left Hand Canyon. And hence the name, this is where gold was first discovered during the historic Colorado Gold Rush of 1859.

The setting of Elevation is a dystopian America, inside the tiny fictional community of “Lost Gulch Refuge”- only 5% of the world’s population is alive and can only reside in the high mountaintops and elevations over 8000 feet.🇺🇸🔝⛰️🌎

The other 95% of the world’s population who could not get up the mountains and elevated terrain fast enough were decimated within a month by alien beasts that ascended from the depths below. 👽👾⬇️

The creatures cannot go above 8000 feet. There is a line on the ground marked at 8000 feet and no one can cross that line not even by an inch. Also, all animals on earth are alive and thriving in the lower parts of the planet - the aliens coexist with all wildlife. But actively seek and destroy any signs of human life.🫂😬🥤🍿🎬📺

So, I was in shock afterwards by such poor reviews, it’s like 16% or something on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics. Also, The Electric State “purists” are echoing howls of pain & despair that can be felt through the screen since having watched this film.

I watched The Electric State completely with “fresh eyes” and no attachment or point of reference in terms of source material. However, admittedly biased toward anything dystopian and especially American dystopian plus there’s the robots. I was like “wow” - Netflix went all out with this.

As expected, there is not much in terms of dialogue and script but it’s a wild, messy & campy adventure and the cinematography is purely fantastic, it felt big budget to me. I still like it.

Turns out the Russo Brothers who made all of the Marvel Avenger’s films produced this movie to the tune of $320 Million.💲💲💲🎬🎥🤖💖

Now, about the book. OMG. The Electric State book by author Simon Stalenhag is one of the most creative books I have ever seen. It is just stunning to look at.

So here, I have to agree with the purists. It doesn’t make the movie adaptation any less of a film to me, I still like it *but* the vibe of the film is entirely day and night when compared to the book.

The book is calm & ominous to me. The vibe is crestfallen with deep sorrow. So, when in conjunction with the film - the book feels more like a disjointed silent aftermath, an eerie depiction of what’s left and forgotten.🤖⚡️🔌📚
