Wife got a new phone, is now member of the GrapheneOS master race. I imagine her old Samsung S9 is looking forward to a dignified retirement as an mp3 player, a camera, a backup device, a seldom used container for normie apps...

Well, not so fast, there is A LITTLE MORE work to do old boy 🤠

Hellz ya

How is the performance without an SSD drive?

It's storing the blocks on the microSD, that's about 300MB/s write speed and more than enough. SSD range between 300 and 600MB.

The S9 has 4GB of RAM, that should also be enough. I emptied the phone as much as possible and removed other services.

Emulating linux?

Yes, with Termux

Cool

Awesome! I love all these little projects people do to support Bitcoin and Lightning. I saw some crazy miners which are not even profitable but you learn a lot building it.

An archival full node (regular Bitcoin node) 👍🏻🚀

Fellow master race here. Intrigued by the side project... before the teenagers 'claim' my discarded S10.

I got it! The only problem: pruning doesn't work... When the sd card is full it shuts down.

How did you configure pruning?

prune= doesn't seem to work 😕

First things first, are you editing the .bitcoin/bitcoin.conf with admin rights and is it surely saved AND the correct conf? Sometimes while playing around you might leave a deprecated folder structure and wonder why changes don't have an effect. Happened or me.

I downsized a couple of times because the index is excluded from the MB limit set in pruned and I set the first limits to high.

Is pruning active, have you un-# it?

Yeah probably i have to downsize also. Probably i made the same mistake not calculating the size for the index...

Thank you very much 🙂
