Big tech companies like Microsoft are drewling over the chance to build it.

It will not be a direct issue from the government. They know this would be a nonstarter. It has to look like a better version of Venmo.

Government contracted work rarely, if ever produced good work, and quality design. Never is it innovative.

Normally this is due to the oversight needs, obscene regulations, contract kickbacks,, redundancies, etc..

As of right now, the US constitution likely would need to be amended for a CDBC, as only the treasury/mint is allowed to create 'money'(lol).
