My problem with nostr is that I open it, and as I start reading an influx of new content starts appearing, so I lose what I was reading, then I close it.

Amethyst does a decent job keeping your position.
Will give it a try! Didn’t have much luck with Iris/Damus, could be because I use them in parallel sometimes 🤷♂️
The same , amethyst user here , that may happened in huge number of relays added .
So reduce relays? I only have default ones afaik.
Amethyst works great also if you don't follow thousands of people. Are there really that many high quality note producing people out there? Prune.
