Long form interviews are the future of politics, I hope. It would improve things immensely.
Discussion
Before they arrived on the scene, I never thought I would be interested in listening to two people talk for three hours. Rogan blew my mind on that issue, and one of the first podcasts I ever listened to was a two hour discussion with Paul Stamets, a mushroom experts.

Anyway, I'm with you. You get a much better feel for someone listening to them discuss various topics for hours.
I think it was a huge mistake by democrats to demonize Joe Rogan over the past few years. Then they compounded the error by rejecting invitations to his show as well as others, like Lex Fridman during the 2024 election.
I spent a large part of Covid lockdown era puttering around the house, working on various projects, riding bikes a lot, doing chores, all the time listening to long form podcasts. That’s when I got hooked.
(Although I also remember listening to the original Ricky Gervais show 15-20 years ago and that was just him and Stephen Merchant talking about random stuff for hours on end)
Great points. The Dems have a lot of wounds to heal before 2028... and finding someone that can hold an intelligent conversation for hours may be where they should start. And I hear you on the listening to long formats doing choirs... my go to as well. May we be blessed and entertained with intelligent conversation as we move fwd. Cheers!
