Idk, I think this is kinda like people attacking Milton Friedman for not being a pure enough anarchist libertarian. There's a very real possibility that I might not have made it to agorism without Friedman as a stepping stone.

Bitcoin Magazine takes money from shitconers to produce solid Bitcoin focused content. And they put on the biggest conference, that gets the most attention, and every year the shitcoins & shitcoin companies change, but the focus is still Bitcoin.

They are like a giant funnel for idiot normies who are caught up in some scam and might otherwise not get much exposure to Bitcoin at all. Guy & I had a convo that clearly changed the mind of some dude last year that only went for some shitcoin satellite event.

The crypto ecosphere may naturally have some orbit around Bitcoin, but we want the path to be close enough that people might actually learn something. I think Bitcoin Magainze is actually doing very valuable work.

Bitcoin Mag has done a lot of good. Hopefully they learn from this and turn back towards the core BTC ethos

Yeah, all that said, I think selling Ordinals for crazy prices is pretty distastful. I'm pretty glad that shit broke.

For a while Rothbard was in bed with Cato until they decided he was too radical. He made some mistakes like anyone. He was too dismissive of agorism. That doesn't mean he wasn't a giant and much to be loved.

Bitcoin is being too cozy with banksters, legacy finance and governments. Totally trackable. First mover advantage. Further and further from digital cash for everyone outside government control it was intendend to be. For agorism especially we need much better. There has been a lot of innovation since bitcoin.

Milton Friedman? The asshole who gave us automatic tax withholding? What is the joke?
