Maybe 🤔. The word “United” is firmly planted in the name of the “US”, even the acronym is a call to collectivism. I see there are much more gains beyond the defense against war value statement. I can’t argue against the fact that it facilitates trade with less friction amongst the trusted members. The speed limit of business in the “free” market is “capital-T” Trust. We don’t want to go slower than that speed limit, but definitely don’t go faster.

There should be no distinction between commerce with people in other states in the union vs trade with people in states outside the union.

I agree. The speed limit is the same amongst individuals: capital-T Trust. We’re building infrastructure to help us verify, relying less on trust. So that’s why I am here on nostr 🙂

I would add that the global earth is still a “collective” by definition. Just “zoom out” they say. It’s just another 🐢.

The idea that we’re part of a collective memory makes sense. All this impulsive reaction to words like “communism” or “capitalism” or “authoritarianism”. We may not know the words, yet we feel it “a priori”.
