Isn't it a bit early? Usually I see these showing up in shops around Oktoberfest. But I guess in München and other bavarian pubs you can get it all year long. Looking for it next time I can get one.

It's actually "late". Traditionally they're not meant to hear the noon bells from the church. So back in the days they were a snack between breakfast and lunch but since the sausages aren't treated with anything they turned bad very quickly. Today we have fridges and you can keep them for 1-2 days.
