People don’t write anymore. Back in the 80s here when Athena was a thing, they had about a dozen different colours of high quality writing paper. It just isn’t important now. It will be, at some point, and it can’t come soon enough

That's not strictly true. A LOT of people love really good notebooks. (I'm one of them.)
But yes, it is not necessary anymore, but it is better in many ways.
I still handwrite on notebooks everyday. But, most don't anymore.
