These are the kinds of things that those who view the world in terms of at least generations should feel at least slightly obligated to do what you can to preserve these kinds of things and the work that goes into making them.

I know,
Those who are born to the family businesses are obliged to inherit the skills. I grew up knowing such people. They may wish they can run a way.
It is a tough environment to be in.
But others, much like us, may want to learn to do it. I think this will be the way to keep old arts and ways alive.
People don’t write anymore. Back in the 80s here when Athena was a thing, they had about a dozen different colours of high quality writing paper. It just isn’t important now. It will be, at some point, and it can’t come soon enough
That's not strictly true. A LOT of people love really good notebooks. (I'm one of them.)
But yes, it is not necessary anymore, but it is better in many ways.
I still handwrite on notebooks everyday. But, most don't anymore.
