It seems simple on the surface but much harder to implement correctly. PDF and some other document formats can be used to propagate viruses and exploits. If bad actor decides to use NB for distribution of exploits, it is not easy to prevent. It is a responsibility of hosting site to ensure that we do not partake in spread of exploits. If everyone were honest and no exploits were possible, it would be very easy. I am still looking into how make it safe so not all hope is lost 🐶🐾🫡
I have the same problem, maybe generating a new PDF from the server, but this closes the door to uploading digitally signed pdf's (because the resulting pdf would not have this signature of course). It also adds load to the server. Apart from privacy issues
