Why do you want to normalise and end illiteracy? I don’t understand your position.

I have an absolutely terrible time with math. Algebra 101 twists my brain so bad that even after 3 semesters & extra tuition I dropped it. When it comes to English I have no trouble at all and I had a teacher who wanted me to get into a career in writing. Some people have a hard time with writing but can be brilliant at other things, we are all different. Judging a person's ability to build high end computers on the basis of spelling & grammar in one email is not wise imo.

Grammar is basic literacy and can not be compared to algebra 101.

Otherwise I agree with your general statement.
