I have ~15TB of just video and growing. It happens.
Wait until you have to migrate that to a new file system and raid controller. I’m on windows today and it said “more than one day.”
I’m in some serious hot water. Lol
Considering my media server does not have a real NAS attached to it And it's literally a bunch of hard drives plugged in to a self powered USB strip. Yeah....
It needs to happen at some point and im deff dreading the day I decide to do that.
Mine is costing me <$100.
It’s the damn copying.

This + existing hard disks + 500gb ssd + 2 sata cables. $80. They were throwing this out. 
I tried pilfering a server for my old day job but they were not having it. 😅 I offered to pay for it to. it was just collecting dust

Can get these for cheap on eBay though off lease. Cost a bit more but you’ll still get a damn near commercial NAS for Best Buy prices when you’re done.
Best site for finding servers on Ebay. Ive been debating on what to get.
