Musk is active in the company today, and aside from being an apartheid-supporting Nazi sympathizer and admirer, he's also something of an avatar for all the worst things happening on the White House. So, it's not simply the Nazi shit that has people up in arms over Tesla.

Are you seriously not aware of Elon's South African history, and his family's established pro-apartheid position, and his Afrikaner sympathies? Are you not aware of admiration for Werner von Braun and other Nazi scientists brought over as part of Operation Paperclip? There's a ton of shit associating Elon with white supremacist, Nazi sympathizing, and definitely pro-apartheid beliefs, as well as his current affinity for the Afrikaners in South Africa who benefitted greatly during apartheid South Africa. I don't think he's a Nazi, and I don't think he's a white supremacist, but his companies have been plaugued by allegations of racism, and associated lawsuits, and his and his family's history is directly associated with the pro-apartheid, pro-Afrikaner movements and he has displayed support for certain Nazis in addition to his decision to throw up two Seig Heils.
Also, referring to his overt, Nazi salutes as "strange hand gestures" has got to be one of the most intellectually bankrupt minimizations of Nazi symbolism I've ever seen.
I'll address both of your replies. First, my family is deeply religious. However, I am not at all. So, we cannot apply the faults of family members to an individual, unless they have come outright and said they too are in agreement. As for the rocket scientist, I believe almost everyone was a fan. If it were not for von Braun, the US would not have made it to the moon. Trying to pin Elon's admiration for Braun as a scientist to mean he agrees with the Nazi past is ludicrous. I admire Mercedes AMG for their pedigree in hand-built engines, but that doesn't mean I approve of their Nazi car-building past.
