I feel like very few people are talking about Payjoin still. This needs to change.

Should be default behavior probably

I think it will be within the next few years cuz of the fee savings, especially for exchanges. May not see much action from them until another sustained fee surge.

As someone who hasn't jumped into any of the new payment systems (payjoin, cashu, nuts, mints, etc.), are all the devs working on these projects competing against each other for the best app? This year I plan to start testing, but just curious how this space is developing. And if so, why do you like Payjoin over others?

You should definitely try stuff like Cashu out, it's pretty awesome. Couple things:

Nuts, mints - these are terms involved in the Cashu ecosystem. I suggest trying out a Cashu wallet like Minibits (Android) or cashu.me . Use small amounts and treat those sats like cash in your pocket. cashu.space is a good place to learn about the protocol, and there are lots of nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg podcast appearances you can listen to. Cashu is a custodial ecash system built on top of Lightning.

Payjoin transactions happen on the base chain and help break assumptions made by people surveiling the network. payjoin.org can do a much better job of explaining any of that than me.

These things are complimentary to each other, rather than competitive.

Thank you very much... really appreciate it.

the efficiency gained from the overall netting effect of pay joins should be emphasized more so than privacy. Privacy is direct byproduct but waving that banner exclusively just draws to much attention before it can proliferate especially at exchanges that struggle with regulatory nonsense

Have to agree there
