Did some Simplex Chat testing today and I am not sure if this is by designed or a bug. 😔

I tried calling a friend next to me if the notification will come through. The call did not come through even though the notification settings is set to "instantly".

What we did notice: call will get through if the app is open. This does not makes sense, like any app, it should come through even though it is not open.

Any thoughts or anyone observed the same thing?

Maby it is just not ready for calling. Or will never be for the complex connections one has inbetween.

The same here, even for text messages. The message only arrives when app is open (using iPhone).

Installed, tested, uninstalled

I sent a message to Simplex team about it

Any time I open it, I see partial conversations because messages are missing. I've had other experiences with it giving false messages about what has been uploaded/sent. It's really trashy.

omg...😱 this is crazy 😬

I like the idea of simple x

did you have the same experience?

I downloaded it, haven’t tried it yet.

would be keen to know if you are having the same experience.☺️👌

I will try it for sure, but I noticed they don’t have an ipad app. That’s a deal breaker. But I’m very curious I’ve heard great things about it.

Did you uninstall - reinstalled??

I installed it. I am still using it. However, I am struggling to connect with my desktop and mobile because it must be on the same network! 😔 Other than the issue that I already mentioned above. The 3rd issue is the battery consumption. I find it disappointing that it drains the battery a lot if you have your notifications on instant or periodically — which checks notification every 10 mins. I never had this issue with Signal for all the have. I hope it will get fixed soon. 🙏😬

My favorite is Signal. Have you tried it? It has an ipad native version, Ive always loved it.

It has usernames, so you don’t have to give your phone number.

Oh you donuse signal great

I think signal is so much better.
