the thing is, #nostriches talk sh*t on here about #btc and stuff, like they are the gods of #btc and #nostr, making it known that if you're on here, you must be a #bitcoiner, #stacker, #dev, techie and all, know-it-all, yada yada, berating those who don't own or don't care about #btc. Yes, we all have freedom to say our sh*t, and I see posts that say, "stay humble and stack sats" and all that, but what's being humble about parading the person's awareness, knowledge, and wizardry about #btc when #nonbitcoiners got on here to simply make friends, do business, do their stuff, sans #btc? People are free to say what they want, but in the process, some eschew the responsibility of at least making the newbies feel they've come to the right place. I've read tons of unwelcoming notes where nonbitcoiners are reduced to lesser mortals on here. Somehow, there's an unwritten law that pervades on here that if you go #nostring, you must be a bitcoiner, if you're not, you must be converted to become one, but if you refuse, you're an absolute outcast
and it's not my place to tell the gods on here to stfu, live and let live, but if we really want #nostr to thrive, we must at least be welcoming and accepting of nonbitcoiners. It's up to them to do #btc or not, to start or not. and if they ever do, not all unicorns start big

I wasn't specifically referring to you, and in regards to relays, none of my twitter friends know about relays and stuff, aren't even into #btc and it wasn't easy explaining stuff to them so even I wasn't able to convince them to switch to #nostr. This isn't a perfect place. It has potential, but seeing how people demean others on here, it's not even half as welcoming as Threads to be bothered with. Yes, people on here trash Threads like hell and don't even lift a finger to make #nostr as welcoming as 'the others'
and if I provide some constructive criticism, the gods of nostr see me as a dark monster, not even bothering to look into the faults and flaws of this place, like if someone tells you you've got dirt on your face, the appropriate course of action would be to look into the dirt, and remove it, then thank the informer of the dirt, not criticize - that's immature and outright unhinged

we don't hold our future in our hands, as one can expire anytime, no one can be sure of one's longevity, also, #btc, no matter how good one is in taking custody of it, who's to say it will stay safe forever? maybe some hackers will come around and end their happiness, or maybe they'll have some emergency to use it for, or worse still, one may have all the #btc in the world but they're never contented and happy, so one never knows. Tomorrow is not promised, as the wheel of life will not stop turning. The gods may reign for now but forever is not a given
