I would love to see more of an organized effort to get property taxes abolished. The benefits of doing so would go both directions (at least for first movers). Imagine the influx of people who would want to snatch up legitimately ownable property. Then it is likely that market competition would kick in — if just one county eliminated property taxes and saw the benefits, other towns and counties would likely want in on it too.

My understanding is that the modern form of taxing property has its origins in European feudalism. This presents one great narrative angle by which to sell the idea: no state or federal government ought be a feudal lord over its citizens. Especially in light of all the other taxes we now pay.

It seems to me that it is repugnant to the constitution as well as human nature. Obviously the politicians don't feel the same way
