Cambridge comes from Cambria, the Latin version of Cymru, which is what the Welsh call themselves.

Welsh comes from the English word Wealas, which comes from a proto-Germanic word basically meaning “not us”.

The earliest Arthurian legends are Cymru stories of a great King who fought against Anglo-Saxon invaders.

TIL all that from you. I was under the impression that Arthur and Robin Hood were Norman introductions.
