i tried the water pepper plant that is growing on our
property. wow it’s hot. unexpectedly spicy. weird hot though. its not the kind of spicy you get with the capsicum in peppers. its more like horseradish, but without the in your nose thing. its like slap you in the face then run away hot. i already made a sauce with it 🙂

yeah. but apparently there are two kinds. boring and burn your face off.
I thought that's what it was. That stuff ate my garlic and onion beds this year. Maybe I'll need to eat it back.
On a side note, I remembered the genus name from my landscaping days. My grandmother and I had some Persecaria microcarpa (had to look up the specie) at a couple clients' houses.
