The alienation of people can be directly attributed to a lack of equilibrium with nature. It is quite remarkable to observe the few indigenous tribes that still exist today, as the existential problems that have manifested across the entire Western hemisphere barely seem to cross their minds. This is not to say we should go full blown Ted Kaczynski and swap our MacBooks for sticks and stones, but rather to emphasise that we must recognise how modern technologies have incentivised and perpetuated a need for dominance and power. These technologies have enabled the maximisation of profits to such an extent that profit is often prioritised over people themselves. As a species neurologically wired for dominance hierarchies, it becomes increasingly vital to develop an awareness of how the human psyche operates, how technology can be both fundamental and dangerous, and how a return to the past might uncover valuable, lost treasures.

It's not technology that needs to be stifled, but certain use-cases for which some people develop it. The same tool can hammer a nail or kill a person.
