Oh man, had a bad day at the office today.

I’m so damn tired of when milestones to tell investors are more important than our users and their experience.

I’m currently working on a platform where all of our users are literally thrown under the bus, and we release broken unfinished stuff that does not look or work like it was initially designed, just to replace old but functioning stuff.

And we do this just to be able to say to investors that hey! We launched this (whatever) in time!

Yes we did, but we scoped out 85% of the functions, took short cuts everywhere and launched something that does not work.

Great achievement y’all 👏

And then the same people that pushed for the quick release and taking shortcuts are wondering why users are dropping off 🤷‍♂️

What a mystery! 🫢

You work at twitter?! 🤣

Haha yeah, it feels like it sometimes 😂 I could imagine they feel the same

This sounds all too familiar. Time to look for a better shop!

Yeah, motivation is not peaking atm. The company has real potential, but execution is horrible right now.

That's about the experience I had at every job I've had. This is why burnout is so bad in the industry. It's a creative job, that doesn't happen on a schedule but the 'managers' cannot allow flexibility. They need 'control' to feel as if they matter at all (They don't).

Yeah! And that thing about managers is so true. I’ve started adding redundant things to my design , because I know something always needs to be scoped out by managers no matter what.

Like if I present a design with just an input field and a button the response is:

“Yeah, we can’t build that. Let’s remove the button.”
